Number 1 Race Mechanic
As a Number 1 Race Mechanic, you’ll take the lead in the maintenance, preparation, and operation of Academy Motorsport’s race cars — ensuring peak performance both in the workshop and at race events across Europe.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, service, and operate GT4 cars at the workshop and on event.
- Carry out rebuilds and preparation to the highest professional standards, meeting strict deadlines.
- Lead and support a team of mechanics, promoting clear communication and collaboration at races and test events.
- Follow engineering and technical procedures throughout car assembly and servicing.
Skills & Experience
- Strong understanding of race car maintenance, repair, and setup.
- Experience with sub-assembly and gearbox builds is an advantage.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role within a professional motorsport environment (e.g. WEC, ELMS, DTM, IMSA, BTCC, FE).
Number 2 Race Mechanic
Reporting to the Chief Mechanic and/or Number 1 Race Mechanic, you’ll play a key role in building, maintaining, and operating our GT4 cars. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience within one of motorsport’s most competitive and exciting categories.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble and service GT cars both in the workshop and trackside.
- Ensure all cars meet build specifications and setup parameters.
- Work closely with the team to maintain high standards of performance, communication, and efficiency.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience as a Number 2 Mechanic, ideally with GT4 cars.
- Proven experience in motorsport with a methodical and detail-focused approach to work.
