Racing for the Future.
Every champion starts somewhere. For most, it’s a go-kart with the backing of friends and family. But the real challenge comes after – how do you go from chasing a dream to standing on the world stage?
For Marco Signoretti and Erik Evans, that path just became clearer. The Academy Motorsport duo have been named part of the inaugural Ford Performance Junior Driver Program – a new initiative designed to identify, support, and develop the next generation of racing talent.
Both drivers have already shown their credentials on track with Academy, delivering pace, consistency, and results in the GT4 European Series. Now, under the guidance of Ford Performance and its factory mentors, they’ll take their development to the next level.
The program is about more than just lap times. Marco and Erik, along with a handful of other rising stars, were evaluated on everything from racecraft to engineering feedback, media presence, and how they handle pressure. It’s a holistic approach that reflects what it takes to be a modern professional driver.
What makes Ford Performance’s strategy unique is the ladder it provides. From Mustang Cup racing to the Mustang Challenge, into international GT4, and on towards GT3 at Le Mans – all on the same platform, and all with world-class support. No other manufacturer offers that level of continuity or opportunity.
For Academy Motorsport, it’s a proud moment to see our drivers recognised at the highest level. Marco and Erik are not only proving themselves in Europe’s most competitive GT4 field but are now part of a program that will shape the next era of Ford’s racing success.
The stopwatch will always matter, but this is about building complete drivers – mentally, physically, and professionally – ready to face the intensity of international competition.
For Marco and Erik, this is the next step. For Academy Motorsport, it’s proof of what can be achieved when talent and opportunity meet.
