Vanspringel and Evans Move Into the Top Six for Race 2 at Spa-Francorchamps

Academy Motorsport’s Ford Mustang GT4 set both grids for Round 3 of the 2026 GT4 European Series at Spa-Francorchamps on Friday, with Nathan Vanspringel and Erik Evans qualifying P13 for Race 1 and stepping up to P6 for Race 2.

Q1 set the Race 1 grid, with Vanspringel and Evans posting a best lap of 2:29.327 to line up 13th in a 44-car field. The session was topped by Charlie Hart and Max Cresswell in the Elite Motorsport McLaren Artura GT4, who lapped in 2:27.749.

Car 61 found more pace in Q2. Vanspringel and Evans improved to 2:29.579, enough to move up to P6 and close the gap to pole from 1.578 seconds to 1.143 seconds. Hart and Cresswell again set the pace, a 2:28.436 lap securing pole for Race 2.

Both sessions were held in dry conditions, with track temperatures climbing from 39.4°C in Q1 to 41.7°C in Q2. Results are provisional, subject to final scrutineering.
