Academy Motorsport Heads to Spa-Francorchamps for GT4 European Series Round 3

Academy Motorsport travels to Belgium for Round 3 of the 2026 GT4 European Series, with the Ford Mustang GT4 set to take on the legendary Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps from 25–27 June. The round forms part of the wider CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa week, putting the team’s two Mustangs on track alongside one of the biggest crowds in GT racing.

Erik Evans and Nathan Vanspringel are confirmed in Car 61 as the team continues its season-long commitment to the Ford Racing Development Driver programme. Spa is a circuit that rewards exactly the kind of preparation that programme is built around.

Spa-Francorchamps runs 7.004 kilometres across 19 turns, and few circuits test a GT4 car quite like it. The Eau Rouge-Raidillon sequence climbs more than 40 metres in a matter of seconds, the lap covers over 100 metres of elevation change start to finish, and the Ardennes weather can turn a session on its head with little warning.

The weekend also brings the only night race on the 2026 GT4 European Series calendar. Free practice runs on Thursday 25 June, with qualifying and Race 1 on Friday 26 June taking the field into darkness. Race 2 follows on Saturday morning. A full breakdown of session times is available in the official timetable.
